PST Overview and Schedule

Hello friends,

This post is just to give a macro and micro schedule of our PST. I hope this will give future posts some context and help people keep track of the difference between the training sites, and make it easier to follow my PST journey.

MACRO SCHEDULE

November 9th - December 4th, 2017

We were at "McCarthy" learning the basics of PC Uganda and teaching literacy. On December 4th, we moved to a new training site, "Shakira", to practice using these teaching techniques at a local school.

December 5th - December 16th, 2017

We were at "Shakira" to practice teaching at a local Ugandan school. We also received our site assignments and began learning our local language. On December 17th, we met our supervisors (generally the principal of our school) and traveled to our sites to live with a local family and study our local language.

December 17th - January 14th, 2017

We stayed with our local families in our assigned region and attended local language training. On January 15th we left our regions to return to a central location and be sworn in as Peace Corps volunteers!

January 15th - January 19th, 2017

We returned to a central location for some final training and swearing in!
